So..... based on a, no doubt, very inaccurate weather forecast and without all the last minute crucial info that can throw all sorts of other factors into the mix (e.g. tee-times, who-plays-with-whom, Scottish Open and John Deer results ...), I give you my selections .....

Richard STERNE - Beware the recovering golfer.... (100/1)

Fredrick JACOBSON - he putts, he scrambles, he scores (100/1+)

Harris ENGLISH - He's English ... just not the way you would think (200/1)

Marc WARREN - Who? There are those that win and then there are those that have better stats than those that win (250/1)

Shane LOWRY - Now there's a figure that won't get blown away ! (100/1)

Finally a mention of 2 other names. You may recall the name Tyrell HATTON who was a member at the club I used to belong to before I got in a row with the Membership Committee and they put the fees up (that's another story) and who I have played with/against, well he has qualified again and this time I believe that he will not only make the cut but is not an unreasonable bet to make the Top 10 (Odds not yet available but 50/1+ would be OK).

Finally, if the dashing frenchman Victor DUBUISSON should win the Scottish Open and make the final entry to Muirfield then I shall be filling my boots - he's long, hits it low, fearless and looks like he belongs in the Three Musketeers, a real character ...... he is a winner waiting to happen and the wait may just end with that really rare thing a 2 event win streak !
