Update
Quickly. What was that? To quote Butch Harman "that's as easy as the course can play". Hence a 14 year old playing woods into the greens gets a +1 score !!!!
None of my picks for the title are completely out of it and my Top Amateur is looking for some help from the Club Management. My 1st Round leader picks were humbled - Tied 56th and Tied 34th. However, I remain positive and if they do make it a proper test today there good be some big movements across the leader-board.
Anything to be sensibly added by playing the exchanges after Round 1?
The leaders are on -6. Garcia is approx 9/1 and Leishman is 63/1. Is Garcia 6 time more likely to win? No - take a piece of the 63/1.
Henley started poorly but then showed some real class - now at 600/1 plus - worth another little dip.
Of those nearer the top - Zach Johnson (-3) is ignored at 85/1 + seems more than fair.
In conclusion - I hope that they have made the test more difficult. If it is more of the same then I can see Dustin Johnson walking away with this one. At approx 8/1 that is not for me.
NOTE - My "dangers' from my original advice are Joint 1st, Joint 4th and J13th !!!!! If only ..............
Hoping for a more exciting day today !!!
